Do you wish for smooth beach ready legs? Do you battle against stubble and shaving rash that stops you wearing what you want? Don't fret, perfect pins are only a few steps away!
Step 1 - Exfoliate
The ritual of exfoliation is much older than our modern day practices, with credit given to the Egyptians! Exfoliating a maximum of twice per week is all that is needed to slough off those dead skin cells and reveal healthy, bright skin whilst keeping ingrown hairs at bay. There are a few methods to choose from;
Dry Brushing - This is extremely effective and invigorating to boot. Dry brush using a cactus bristle body, brush in circle motions, always brushing towards the heart. This is best done before a shower and in the morning as it really does wake you up (no caffeine required!).
Gloves - Like dry brushing, you will get the best results from gloves when they are dry but wet works nicely as well especially when combined with a good salt or sugar scrub.
Salt/Sugar Scrubs - Oil based scrubs rely on the abrasiveness of salt or sugar. These are super indulgent and leave the skin feeling silky smooth with all that lovely oil. If scrubs are your thing I highly recommend booking yourself a Pinks Body Delight which is a full body exfoliation treatment with a choice of one of four Pinks Boutique Scrubs, hot towels and matching Body Balm application (amazing holiday prep for the perfect tan!).
Step 2 - Wax
Step 3 - Hydrate
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Hydration is the key to keeping your skin silky smooth. With our tendencies to shower daily we need to actively replace lost moisture to prevent dryness, ingrown hairs, flaking and that dreaded dull appearance. There are lots of lotions and potions to choose from, though we recommend staying away from products containing synthetic chemicals and alcohols as these can be drying in themselves, plus who wants to load up with unnatural toxins on a daily basis? Our favourite choice for legs is definitely a body balm with a base of super hydrating and nourishing oils that will give a summer glow.

Us Brits love a good tan, we do our fair share of sun worshiping when jetting off on holiday, but do we really consider the harm we may be doing? Sun exposure can cause untold damage to our delicate skin as a result of ultraviolet radiation. But how does a sun tan occur? When the skin is subjected to UV radiation the melanocytes in the skin produce more melanin which leads to a darkening effect of the skin. So you are left with a sun tan which might look healthy, but in reality it is your skin's way of protecting itself against damage.
Sunbathing for hours might seem like a great way to get a beautiful beach glow, but with premature ageing and skin cancer caused by sun damage sun block with a high SPF is the only sensible option as far as your skin is concerned. No amount of anti ageing serum is able to truly reverse the effects of sun damage.
So how do you achieve a healthy and safe tan that lasts? Well, spray tanning is the perfect way of getting a sun-kissed look without actually having to expose your skin to harm. Also, the active ingredient in fake tan called DHA doesn't have any known harmful effects so you can tan without worrying!
The active ingredient in fake tan adheres to the top layer of skin cells and does not penetrate deeper into the skin, which means the colour gradually comes off as the cells are sloughed away. Gently patting the skin dry after a shower and moisturising well can lengthen the life cycle of your skin cells and in turn prolong your tan.
One of the most common myths about fake tan is that it turns the skin orange. Although this may have been the case when the sunless tanning industry was still in its infancy, today's situation is completely different - modern formulations have banished that 'tangoed' look and replaced it with a natural finish. Spray tans are available in a whole range of strengths which means you have control over the depth of your tan. Sienna X formulations are also enriched with natural ingredients such as aloe vera and cocoa butter so the skin is actively nourished with each treatment.
